  • Cozy sweaters, baking spices & figs are my favorite things about fall! I recently discovered chocolate-dipped figs are straight h.e.a.v.e.n. and have been eating them nonstop. The Chocolate Fig Old Fashioned is this little indulgence in cocktail form that mixes fresh fig syrup, creme de cacao & the essential Old Fashioned ingredient: ANGOSTURA ® aromatic bitters. The baking spice notes of #Angostura bitters are perfectly paired with figs, it transforms the profile of the drink with just a few dashes. {ad} #ItChangesEverything #Angosturabitters #OldFashionedNewTwists ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CHOCOLATE FIG OLD FASHIONED ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 oz bourbon ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1/4 oz creme de cacao ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1/4 oz fig syrup (recipe below) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3 dashes @angosturahouse aromatic bitters orange peel ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ garnish: chocolate covered fig ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a glass, add a large cube of ice. Add all ingredients and stir. Twist orange over glass to release oils and discard. Garnish with chocolate covered fig ( I dipped figs into dark chocolate & then rolled them in crushed pistachios) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ FIG SYRUP ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1 cup water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3/4 cup sugar ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1/2 cup figs, chopped ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Add water and sugar into a sauce pan over medium heat. Once sugar is melted, add figs and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and muddle figs. Let infuse for 1 hour. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a jar. Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
