Ingredients

- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 inch nob of ginger
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks, cracked
- 1/2 whole nutmeg, chopped
- optional- 2 tsp molasses
Instructions
Peel ginger and chop. Chop nutmeg into pieces. Add water and sugar into a sauce pan and stir. Crack cinnamon stick into pieces. Add all spices and ginger to the pan. Simmer ingredients on a stove for 15 mins. Take off heat and let cool. Strain through fine mesh strainer. Store in sealed container 2-3 weeks in the fridge.
